Camry
Ecm failure can produce a relay activation, knocking, or clattering sound that is heard only while accelerating or when
turning the key to the on position. This can be the result of over-advanced 1993 camry ecm timing, too lean an air/fuel mixture, an overheated engine, or too much compression due to carbon buildup in the combustion chambers. An inoperative or disconnected camry ecm computer can also cause detonation. The cure is to find out what's causing the detonation and to eliminate it before serious engine damage can result. Certain 1996 camry codes are generally considered harmless but severe negligence over time can crack pistons, piston rings, and heads, or damage the ecm.
